How To Pick Out Your Perfect Tonkinese Kitten
These are pictures of a 7 ½ week old Platinum Point Tonkinese kitten.
There are 4 pictures to show you what to look for.

 |
Picture 1 shows from the back of the head looking down. Notice the short-ness of the nose, width of the muzzle and how it literally flows into the face. |
Picture 2 my finger is trying to show how rounded the top of the head is. This can easily be seen looking at your kittens profile. |

 |
Picture 3 notice the stop is directly between the two eyes and not part way down the nose. It is a stop bordering on being a break. This is what you have to breed to get perfect stops. |
Picture 4 see the face straight on, the roundness of the head, the short ears and rounded tips of the ears and how far apart the ears are set. The two ears are set wide apart and can be easily seen looking straight on. |
There should be a large span between the top of the left ear and the top of the right ear. The eyes are also set wide apart and not on top of the nose. Eye color on this cat is a very dark intense blue. This is what
you would need if you have a pointed kitten. If you have either a mink or a solid, the most important thing you would look for is intensity of color to whatever body pattern they are.
This is the same kitten, now all grown up. Her name is Aimee.
This page was created by Lynn A. Sanch who is proudly owned by several Tonkatykes cats.
